12 Xmas Confessions from the biggest Grinch in South Australia.
1. I have not helped put up my xmas tree at home for about 15 years.
2. I have banned my 15 staff at Sydney Street from playing Xmas Carols for the entire festive season since 2010. ( customers needed a break from them in my opinion)
3. I have searched my parents home for gifts, found them all, unwrapped them, checked them out and re-wrapped them before Christmas ( in my teens)
4. I have sold my brother’s xmas present to a kid at school – his electric bass! – as Jason said he didn’t like practicing it and hadn’t used it for 6 months. ( in my teens)
5. I have taken my kids to the Lobethal Lights at 6pm (before it got dark), so I didnt have to put up with the traffic and could get home quicker.
6. I have left all my Xmas shopping till today. I only have to buy 2 presents and I have no idea what to get. I have had 12 months to think about this and I work in Burnside Village Shopping Centre!
7. I never wear Xmas hats from bon bons cos my head is too big for them and they look ridiculous.
8. One year when Tanya’s extended family came over for Xmas Dinner, I started packing up all the xmas decorations and cards as they were leaving. Xmas was over (in my head)…Lets move on!
9. I have woken up at 3am and received a drum kit from Santa and performed an extremely loud drum solo non-stop for 7 hours with no knowledge of how to play the drums. ( I was 10)
10. My kids wanted xmas lights put up at our house so I bought a single strand of white lights, put it across my carport and told them “We may not have the biggest xmas light display in Woodside but we do have the straightest row of single lights!…be proud!”. ( I was so fussy about the neatness I chose to focus on quality over quantity).
11. I used to laugh at Santa at Burnside Village several years ago as he was so unpopular he was forced to leave his chair and walk around with a bell to attract business for himself. ( this year we had record crowds and constant line ups)
12. I moved to Woodside so I can be 5 minutes from Lobethal (lights). So I didn’t have to put up with the traffic delays getting back to Adelaide.
